Lyon & Rose offer uniquely crafted, experiential trainings for your school or organization. We specialize in diversity issues related to gender & sexuality in K-16 schools, integrating mindfulness, personal reflection and community building into each workshop or speaking engagement. We create engaged spaces using the practice of Council, our personal narratives, humor and love.

Professional Development for Faculty & Staff

90-minute, half-day or full-day workshops that bring staff to a common understanding of gender & sexuality in the school environment, with shared and accurate language and new conceptual frameworks. Customized to fit your school’s culture and needs.

Workshops & Assemblies for Students

Age-appropriate workshops for youth to talk about gender, sexuality & identity with young students up through university age. We create a space for ALL students to reflect on their own identities and build compassion for LGBTQ communities. Customized to your audience and to fit into 30-minute, 60-minute or 90-minute block schedules or class periods.

Parent & Community Education

Customized presentations and workshops for an audience of adult stakeholders in your school. Supporting you in educating your parents and school community on LGBTQ issues.

Specialized Training for Administrators

What does it look like to create a gender & sexuality diverse school? We’ll work with you on long-term planning and setting goals to being a leader or just catching up to the curve. We’ll help you assess your strengths and areas of improvement from curriculum to school programming to professional development efforts.

Speaking Engagements & Presentations

Not ready for a customized workshop? Let us give you the basics: an introduction to gender & sexuality frameworks in a forum environment or student assembly. We can speak to a mixed audience of adults working in schools, from administrators to parents, staff to community members.
